Yukon Water & Wildlife Adventure

A full-day of guided Yukon experiences!

Start with a 3-4 hour paddle down the Yukon River in either a canoe or kayak. The river trip from downtown Whitehorse to the Takhini River bridge is about 18 km long and is appropriate for all skill levels from novice to experienced paddler.

You will probably see eagles, cliff swallows, shore birds, ducks and possibly some wildlife on shore. The river is both broad and lazy, and narrow and swift. The banks are tall clay cliffs, forests and sandy pull-up areas. A taste of the wilderness within reach of the City.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Wildlife Preserve and then see the animals on an educational interpretative tour featuring moose, musk oxen, mountain goats, dall and stone sheep, woodland caribou, elk, wood bison, mule deer, lynx and Arctic fox.  There are over 120 animals in seven distinct habitats on 750 acres of land.  www.yukonwildlife.ca

Finish the day with a relaxing soak at Takhini Hot Springs where the odourless natural mineral from deep within the earth fills two connected pools with hot water. www.takhinihotsprings.yk.ca
