Non-Knitting Accompanying Guests

Bring along a friend or a spouse. A weekend in the Yukon is such a special experience you will want to share it. We have prepared a weekend without knitting but full of other northern activities!

Your weekend package includes the same Yukon Experiences as the knitting package.

  • A soak or swim at Takhini Hot Springs, a natural mineral spring where you can sit in the pools and enjoy the mountain scenery. www.takhinihotsprings.yk.ca
  • A tour of the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, a 750 acre wilderness habitat with over 120 animals including caribou, mule deer, bison, moose, elk, mountain goats, lynx, arctic fox  and sheep.  www.yukonwildlife.ca
  • A tour of the City of Whitehorse www.visitwhitehorse.com/ featuring historic buildings from the gold rush era and the building blitz of the Alaska Highway. The tour will include a visit to the Yukon Artists at Work artists co-operative.
  • An evening of nationally acclaimed theatre or music

  • A three/four hour trip to the scenic village of Carcross – Caribou Crossing on the shore of Bennett Lake, the headwaters of the Yukon River. In this historic community there is evidence of its Gold Rush roots, the impact of mining developments and the future promise of the local First Nations. Includes a visit to the desert, the sand dunes adjacent to the community and a camp-stove snack break overlooking the lake. (Spence lived in Carcross for a couple of years and maintains it is the most picturesque community in the Yukon. She always tries to do this tour, though Tom enjoys it too!)
  • A visit to the MacBride Museum of Yukon History www.macbridemuseum.com This fabulous museum in downtown Whitehorse includes Gold Rush exhibits, the Natural World of the Yukon, Transportation and Mining, a First Nations Gallery, Sam McGee’s cabin  …. more than enough to fill an afternoon.
